Dr. Andrea Tisza – Rheumatologist, Medical Director

Dr. Tisza Andrea

Welcome, my name is Dr. Andrea Tisza, rheumatologist and medical director of the Aquarius Bath Medicine Department in Nyíregyháza.

In 1983, I graduated from the Ilona Zrínyi High School in Nyíregyháza, and between 1983 and 1989, I continued my studies at the University of Debrecen, where I was interested in immunology and later on rheumatology.

I was very lucky, as I started my medical career in 1989 in Nyíregyháza at a nationally renowned rheumatology centre, and then in 1995, I passed my specialist examinations in rheumatology and physiotherapy.

Since 2004, I have been a member of the Arthritis Centre established in the department to treat patients presenting with inflammatory symptoms with the most modern tools available, and I have co-authored several professional articles and a university textbook chapter. Since 2018, I have also been working as a spa doctor, and from 2023, I have become the medical director of the Aquarius Bath Medicine Department operated by Sóstó-Gyógyfürdők Zrt. (Sóstó Medicinal Baths Inc.).

During my career, I have worked in several outpatient clinics, where I have seen first-hand the incredible number of people who suffer from musculoskeletal conditions. The younger generation suffers from a sedentary lifestyle and the consequences of long hours of sitting, the elderly turn to us for shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, neck, back and waist pain caused by age-related cartilage damage, and many people apply for a medical check and treatment for the purpose of rehabilitation after an accident. One of Hungary’s greatest treasures is the medicinal water that rises up from the depths of the earth, and its healing powers have been proven by countless patients over the years. Other conservative therapies based on medicinal water can make a significant difference to the quality of life of our patients, but they can also be used as a preventive measure. Treatments are preceded by a thorough patient examination, where we take the time to listen to and understand our guests’ complaints and to tailor the most effective treatments for them, as complex symptoms can be most effectively treated in a complex way. I believe that at Aquarius Bath Medicine Department, the dedication of our colleagues, the quality of our services and the quality of the environment together serve the healing and satisfaction of our guests, and we look forward to welcoming you!
