The design and construction of one of the most interesting building in Sóstógyógyfürdő, Svájci Lak (Swiss House is attached to the name of János Melhouse from Saxony.

Its realisation was resoned by the popularity of the spa and Sóstó. The building recalling mountain family houses has always served as accommodation for guests; the city management also accommodated VIP guests here. Famous Hungarians visited here like Lujza Blaha, Krúdy, Karinthy, Mesterházy and many other artists and politicians. The house has been accommodating visitors since 1866. Now there are 4 apartments with 2+2 beds, 2 single rooms, 3 double rooms in the attic and 1 suite are at the disposal of the guests. Each room has got a bathroom, a TV and minibar. The whole building is air-conditioned. Based on the characteristics of the Svájci Lak, it can be a nice venue for conferences, meetings, professional trainings as well.

Noodle soup of the Nyírség region
Melt butter, fry the chopped weal, add chopped vegetables, peas and sliced mushrooms. Stir a bit together and pour water on it, add salt, white pepper and nutmeg. Wring half a lemon in it. While it is boiling, prepare the potato nuudles. Cook potatoes, add eggs, spices and flour, mush it hard. Make noodles and add them to the soup, cook it ready. Taking off the fire, mix cream and yalk and carefully add it to the soup. When served, pour freshly cut parsley leaves and decorate it with lemon slices.
