How can I take part in the examination by the spa doctor, what should I take with me?

We hereby inform you about the way in which the services available at the Aquarius Bath Medicine Department in Nyíregyháza can be used by persons without a Hungarian residential address or health insurance.
All of our medicinal services (for more detailed information please see our KNOWLEDGE BASE menu option) can be used for prevention, therapeutic or rehabilitation purposes. The use of our therapeutic services is subject to medical advice, and the advice is received on the spot by our guests after the examination by the spa doctor. You need to arrange an appointment by phone in advance, which can be done by calling +36 42 475-031. For the medical check, please bring your previous medical documentation with yourself, together with the result of any imaging procedure made of any of your joints (X-ray, CT, MR). If you would like to take a weight bath treatment, lteral lumbar spine radiography is unconditionally necessary.

About the description of treatments
The description of treatments functions as a knowledge base, broadly includes the mechanism of action of the specific treatment types, the description of the course of the specific treatments, the main indications that ply a role in healing and / or prevention, furthermore, the main contraindications in the existence of which usually the given treatment type cannot be recommended.
Please note that the indications and contraindications included in this document are only informative without the need for copleteness, and they do not replace or make medical examination unnecessary! The compilation of the treatment of patients is performed by the specialist medical practitioner based on a complex assessment of the patient’s state of health, so as to facilitate the patient’s recovery and healing as soon as possible, while minimizing possible risks.
In our medicinal bath, qualified medicinal water forms the basis of healing, which is available in the form of bathing.
Taking a medical bath has a holistic effect on the whole body, so when judging it, one should take into account the general health status of the patient. In the cases listed below, it is not advisable to think about spa treatments, but a thorough examination of the patient will reveal this, so we provide the following information for informative purposes only:
General indications of medical treatments are:
- cardiac and circulatory diseases: Within half a year after a heart attack, or in case of heart failure or untreated high blood pressure
- inflammation of a vein
- overactive thyroid gland
- epilepsy, Sclerosis multiplex
- inflammatory phase of a musculoskeletal disorder
- incontinence (partial or complete disorder of faecal or urinary retention)
- haemophilia, taking blood thinners, menstruation
- for a period of 5 years after cancer, but also thereafter, based on individual consideration- infectious diseases
- open wounds, injuries, infectious skin diseases
- feverishness
- pregnancy
Physiotherapy is the most ancient branch of healing and is a word of Greek origin, meaning healing with natural energies. Within this, physical therapy involves therapy performed with physical energy.
The toolkit of physical therapy at our medical departnment is as follows:
Electrotherapy:
- Low-frequency treatments: stabile galvanic, iontophoresis, diadynamic current
- Mid-frequency treatments: interference
- High-frequency treatments: magnetotherapy
- Mechanotherapy: Ultrasound, sonophoresis, underwater ultrasound, shock wave therapy
- Phototherapy: laser light treatment
- Thermotherapy: cold therapy (cryotherapy)
Physical therapy is mostly a symptomatic treatment. It treats abnormal symptoms, such as: decrease in local metabolism, decrease in blood circulation, decrease in nervous excitability, increased muscle tone, convulsion, stiffer connective tissue, increased fluid retention, local inflammation, narrowing of arthritic trajectories, pain.
The effects of physical therapy are:
Pain relief, congestion enhancing, inflammation reduction, muscle strengthening, muscle relaxation. It exerts its effect in a cure-like manner, which means a cure consisting of at least 10 occasions.
General contraindications:
- feverishness
- acute infections
- menstrual cycle
- thrombosis
- damaged, inflamed skin
- pregnancy
- cardiac insufficiency
- cancerous diseases
- implanted metal or prosthesis in the area determined for the treatment
- patients with a pacemaker cannot receive any high-frequency treatment
